Children & Families
Family sessions are designed to capture both Posed and Candid photos of your whole family.
We'll begin with some posed family portraits, making sure to get all the different groupings you want, including siblings, mom and kids, dad and kids, mom and dad together, and a few individual shots of each child.
Then, I'll encourage the more relaxed portion of the session to give you a chance to have fun and make some new memories while I get some candid shots as beautiful moments unfold. (This is my favorite part).
A typical one family photo session can last anywhere from 45 minutes to about an hour.
These sessions are designed to capture the whole family - brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandkids and more!
Do you have family coming in from out of town? Or maybe you want to round up your siblings and surprise mom and dad with a special photo session to include your entire extended family?
Well, this is just the thing for you! In my ideal session we will begin with some posed portraits of each family unit, then move to siblings, cousins, grandparents, whole group, and any other combinations that you would like. After the posed portraits are out of the way, I'll encourage you to relax, have fun and make new memories together while I capture some candid shots. (Candid moments are my favorite!)
A typical extended family session can range anywhere from 1 to 2 hours in length, depending on the number of people.
I'll guide you through your session with posing suggestions and prompts to create beautiful moments. I'll help you with wardrobe selections and location choices. I will make this as easy as possible for everyone, so please don't stress.

Choosing outfits for the whole family can be stressful. The most important advice is to wear what makes you comfortable, something that represents YOU! I've come up with a simple style guide to help you prepare. You can also lay out your selections together on the bed and send me photos. I'll help you decide!
I am always happy to reschedule an outdoor session if it's raining. The last thing I want is for you and your family to be trapsing through the mud and rain (unless you're into that). However, if the skies are overcast, the session will go on! Clouds are a natural light diffuser and some of my favorite images were taken under overcast skies.
I have several favorite locations in Ellicott City and the surrounding areas. I'm more than happy to recommend something suited just for you. You're also welcome to select your own favorite location within 25 miles of
Ellicott City.
I aim to have your photos delivered within 2 weeks of your session. I will also provide a sneak peek on my Facebook page within a day or two if you'd like!
