About Me

Hi, I'm Jill!

I'm a proud wife, and mom to 3 crazy, amazing, and hardheaded kiddos!

I spend most days helping with homework, running kids from here to there, and of course sneaking out at sunset to capture beautiful photos. In my spare time I love getting my hands dirty planting and gardening in my yard.

My husband, Bill, believes in me like no other. He's an avid Rugby player, CrossFit fanatic, and a kid at heart.

Some days are chaotic, there is always a new challenge, but we're raising 3 happy little humans and reminding ourselves to cherish each and every moment along the way!

"Photography, to me, is catching a moment which is passing, and which is true."

—Jacques-Henri Lartigue

SCHOOL YEARS

I've been passionate about photography for as long as I can remember.

As a child, my mother always had a camera in her hand, which inspired me to start taking photos at a very young age.  One summer, she signed me up for a photography camp at the Smithsonian.  I learned the basics of photography. I made my own pinhole camera and learned how to develop film in a darkroom.

From there, I spent my school years taking photos of anything and everything on my little Kodak Instamatic camera. I would drop off my film and stalk the 24-hour photo booth at Walmart, ripping into my photos in the parking lot the moment they were ready. I mean, who didn't do that?

I guess you could say I was hooked!

MOM-TOG

After my first baby came along, like many moms, I bought myself a DSLR camera. I practiced and practiced, learning my camera’s manual settings and experimenting with light and perspective.

I signed up for all the photography workshops I could find, and I watched every photography YouTube video on the internet.

It was so much fun that I even started shooting family portraits for my friends.  I was working a desk job at the time, so it gave me just the artistic outlet I needed.

After 2 more children and a decade of shooting just for fun, I was finally at the point where I had to make a decision. I talked myself out of it 100 times first, but finally I made the decision to leave the corporate world and pursue my true passion for photography!

BUSINESS OWNER

In 2021, I officially started my own Photography business and could not be happier!

I love being able to wake up every morning and do what I absolutely love! I've been able to open my mind creatively and explore so many different avenues of photography that I never would have before.

I've spent a good part of my life building up to this moment.  I've invested in all the right equipment, mentorships and trainings to help me succeed. And most importantly, I have invested in myself through lots and lots of practice and continued trainings.

This risk that I talked myself out of for years and years ultimately turned out to be the greatest blessing I could have asked for, personally and professionally.

Now I'm ready for whatever comes my way!

"Which of my photographs is my favorite? The one I’m going to take tomorrow."

Jill is wonderful. Where do I start? She is a wonderful human being - so kind and patient. This really showed up when we shared our vision for our family photos. We weren’t sure she’d be able to handle all of our kids and grandparents running around Centennial - but the photos were extraordinary. They were so real and captured memories we’ll cherish forever. Thank you, Jill!
